In
this session we will explore the ever-increasing
prevalence and importance of Virtualization technology. We will discuss the
different aspects of Virtualization including desktop virtualization, server
virtualization, presentation virtualization and application virtualization. In
addition we will discuss the management of the virtualization environment and
some of the advances in server virtualization Microsoft will provide as a
component of its Windows Server 2008 offering shipping in
CY2008.

Presenter Bio:
Matt
Morris is a Technology Specialist in the Florida State and Local Government team
at Microsoft. He responsibility is to work with Microsoft’s public sector
customers and partners across the state of Florida, helping them get the most
out of their investments in Microsoft technology. Matt’s background is heavy in
software development and architecture and he has held positions for companies
such as Software Architects, Microsoft Consulting Services and
PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. He completed his undergraduate course work at the
GREAT Florida State University and most recently earned his Master’s degree from
the University of Tampa. Matt resides in Tampa, FL with his wife, and two sons
aged 4 and 1.
Thom
Michael is a Technology Specialist for the Florida State and Local Government
Team at Microsoft. He responsibility is to work with Microsoft’s public sector
customers and partners in Tallahassee Florida, helping them get the most out of
their investments in Microsoft technology. Thom’s background is heavy in
software development and architecture and he has held positions for companies
such as Boeing, Intergraph and Microsoft. Some of his favorite work included
Software Support for NASA’s Shuttle Main Engine while at Boeing; Working with
Digital Imaging of Weapon Systems while at Intergraph; and helping customers
Architect & Implement Application Lifecycle Management in their
environments. He completed his undergraduate course work at Austin Peay State
University and earned his Master’s degree from Florida Institute of Technology.
Thom resides in Tallahassee, FL with his wife, and two children ages 12 and
7.
